Google QA Sucks

Posted by ryan

Well, at least that's my opinion anyway. And it seems that Matt Drudge agrees.

I'm still struggling with my opinion actually. You would hope a large company like Google would think through the social backlash that could happen if you post public pics like they are doing now. I mean it's the same as if someone were to drive by my place at any time. But still, I can't think of any reason why it should be an invasion of privacy, it just feels like it is. Google introduced a new 'Street View' option to their popular Google Maps today:

Caught outside a stripclub?

Jogging?

Your license plate?

An Adult book store?

What do you think?

Turn your lights off.. Save the world?

Posted by ryan

LOL It's sad when PETA makes more sense than other green freaks when it comes to Global Warming.

Well, there is no love loss between Australia and South Africa. I've decided to try and not be such a noob when it comes to sports lately (Seriously though, I just don't get excited about a bunch of dudes throwing balls around and slapping each other on the butt as a form of congratulatorianism all that exciting. -yeah, i made that word up.)  Cricket World Cup is going on right now, and although it's not a Sport that's played much in the states, I've started to like watching it, oddly enough. I would still rather watch something that is more informing than sports, but sometimes ya gotta blend in with the normal folk. :)

Ok, I got off subject. SA and Australia are hardcore enemies of sport. I was here this time last year when the two teams were making records in the sport. Needless to say it's quite the rivalry. SA came in to the World cup with a Rank of #1 to the world cup and Australia rank #2. .. Good times I guess. Fun to watch too. .. if you have like 6-8 spare hours in a day anyway.

What on earth does the headline have to do with the subject of this post?? Well,it seems the Ausies think that by cutting power in their larger cities is something that will make ppl more conscience about 'Global Warming''. I imagine it would have been fun to participate in, but if anyone thinks that cutting down on energy consumption really will make a difference in the actual greenhouse effect, I'd really like to hear them explain their logic. Wootious logic wtfpwns the less energy consumption crap. Don't get me wrong, waste is waste. We as humans should try and live more efficiently, but honestly, 'Going Green' is much more of a Marketing scheme than anything else. Oh well, I think I'll go eat a nice fresh South African Steak for dinner, but I'll do it in Candle-light because I heart the environment.

*****

.. Other news: Casual Fridays here can be .. a bit too casual (I lost a tooth!! but my legs look DARN sexy). The bunnies for lunch were great! .. although, I'm told white ppl don't eat bunnies much but I tend to enjoy them (you can tell by my FAT face eating it up) It's hot stuff though. More stuff happened Friday night, but since me and my friends made it out alive, I'll just leave it at that. That's all for now.

Pushover Politics (Another Wooties WTF moment)

Posted by ryan

I'm sticking with the green theme a little longer.. just so that people think I'm sensitive to the earth, and that I buy energy saving lightbulbs. (i'm sure to score a date for it .. ) 'sure' isn't exactly the word there.. Anyway, on to Politics!

Moveon.org is a far left organization. if you think it's mainstream.. well. you really need to get out more. Read the history if you you are under any delusion of what this .org stands for. (it's a huge source of ammo for Repubs and Dems alike)

Seems the dems have caved into this Internet group. For reasons that honestly boggle my mind. I mean WTF? Why would you avoid a venue where you can try and win influence over the audience of your opponents? I watch every television news that I can find. I try and hit international news sites and shows like BBC, Aljazeera, Reuters.. etc.I use the net to get a good overall picture of news organizations and their views (from ALL sides). fox News does lean towards the right but it's by no means an extreme. Not even close to the sorts like Moveon.org.

http://wooties.net/blogs/images/movon.jpg

Anyway, if I were a dem. I would fight to get to the more right networks. To talk, prove my point and defend my agenda. Avoiding it does nothing but say that you are scared, ignorant, or a political puppet.

Weak.. VERY weak. I would like a logical liberal opinion on the subject. But they're hard to find. .. all I can find is cry's of how right the FOX  news is. Yet specific examples and cases are hard to find. (BTW, bring it friends: I can point to several instances of every station and it's bias opinions towards one side or the other.)

News is like that. After all, reporters have their point of view also. But if you are a presidential candidate and don't even have the fortitude to debate where you could actually reach out to those of the other parties and expand your voter base.. you get no Wootious respect whatsoever. Especially if you can be influenced by such a small section of your base like movon.org. (if that is your base.. you're in trouble)

John Edwards' blog:"It's time to send a clear message to Fox News and their allies that
their right-wing talking points and temper tantrums won't go
unchallenged anymore"
hahahah so you're challenging them by avoiding them? .. yeah, that shows some real huevos.

Kucinich.com: “it’s an insult to the voters, and the height of cynicism, for
candidates to refuse to take the public stage and subject themselves to
public scrutiny.”  (He's a Democrat if you didn't know)

reviewjournal.com:"The approach of outfits such as MoveOn.org is so juvenile it's
laughable. Imagine if every political organization created litmus tests
for news organizations before agreeing to appear on their programming.
Republicans would have boycotted PBS, CBS, NBC, ABC, National Public
Radio and The Associated Press decades ago.
"  lol, it's like watching a bunch of special ED kids argue. Man, politicians are IDIOTS.

DISCLAIMER: (People with special needs are NOT to be lol'd at. I said that with the intention to point out how retarded politicians are (within context). Those who truly suffer from nature's debilitating circumstances should NEVER be made fun of) EVER.

iPhone Announced, Posers Everywhere Rejoice.

Posted by ryan

So the interwebs are buzzing pretty obnoxiously about Apple's latest gadget, the iPhone. And I can't quite figure out why. Their website touts the phone as some sort of revolutionary device. ..

Nothing about it is new or innovative except for the fact that it's a phone made by Apple. It's a media playing DAP that you can use to make phone calls. Nothing more. It's amazing to see all the fanboys rejoice over such a piece. Apple always makes pretty stuff, I'll give them that. But they blatantly ripped off the design of the phone from LG. Seriously, what will this over-priced DRM-ridden music phone give you that any other phone with similar specs? You guessed it! The same thing that owning an iPod will give you! It's another expensive, poser-ific fashion statement.

  • Phones have been playing music and movies for years and years now.
  • Phones have had touch screens for years.
  • Phones have had high capacity memory for years.
  • Phones have had internet access for years (the iPhone doesn't even have high-speed 3G capability that most phones do)
  • 5 hour battery life, and no replaceable battery?

Most phones with all the features above cost MUCH less than what the iPhud will cost. If you look at any other phone out there in the same price range, you're looking at robust phones with aim for actual productivity. As in, phones that let you send and retrieve email, have broadband-speed connectivity, and run office applications. (as well as play video and music) … And most of the windows-based phones have open API apps so that 3rd party developers can create fun and innovative programs for the phones. ..

The iPhone? Good luck, it's a closed platform, like all things Apple, you're stuck with what they give you. The funny thing about that is the Apple fans think of themselves as 'different', when they're stuck with an operating system that is CLOSED off to 3rd party innovation. silly sheep.

The one cool thing I see about it is the Screen and UI, it looks like the touch sensitivity will be pretty cool (and pretty easy to scratch). You'll pay for it through the nose. .. But the posers of the world will look at you and your incredibly expensive phone that does very little, and envy you. You won't be cool until you have it. This will never be sold to the business crowd, it'll stay with the poser 'sidekick' MTV and Paris Hilton types.

Apple's Marketing wins again!
