Update your iPhone, iDare you!

Okay, so I dissed the iPhone quite a bit prior to it coming out 'n all. One of my main points of why Apple sucks is that it's so proprietary. It works in it's own little box that it keeps safe and protected. That strategy works brilliantly for them, don't get me wrong but you just can't compare that to Microsoft. Microsoft is open to pretty much any 3rd party app, they give SDK's to their customers and encourage them to create and build on their platform. I love all the third party aps and OS revisions that are available for my phone that pretty much pwns the iPhone in every category except secksi.. my phone won't turn heads or get me a date like the iPhone prolly would.

This is what happens when you try and hack the iPhone then install the latest Apple update. .. Man, I'd be perturbed if I were one of the iFanboys who hacked up their iPhone with all the fun 3rd party apps that are out there for it and it bricked my phone.

22 hours from the first order: Things are going so well, many actually felt good enough about everything to go home and rest! I got involved in the late stages of this particular project so none of the results come from me but after spending so much time day and night working with people from my company and this client, today was something awesome. ...I just had to say that out loud.

Wootious props to all! THIS is what you were working for; Days and weeks and months without rest, away from family and this is what you got!  Anyone in IT should be able to appreciate this kind of overall calm the DAY of a total system overhaul going live. Still lots of work ahead, but holy cow, I'm impressed and I know I'm not the only one.

First Live Orders!

Well, I haven't been involved in this particular LARGE implementation from the start, but I've been a part of it for long enough to appreciate the pain and joys of working in the Software Industry. Yes, I look more crappy than usual, the co-workers decided that we wouldn't shave until the project went live. (I'm looking forward to that shave/haircut come Monday)  .. I look like a homeless drug addict.

To those on my side (the vendor) and the client: Wooties to you! (We still have a lot of work to do through the night/days/week but this sure feels good!)

And yes, the vid IS client approved.
